Barbara T. Frankel

Barbara Frankel, 80, of Teaneck, went to live with the Lord on January 25, 2019, with her family by her side. She was born to the late Karl Zatorski and Theresa (Uhlig) Zatorski on August 30, 1938. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Milton Frankel, her children, Timothy (Cathy) Frankel of Penacook, NH, Thomas Frankel of Woodbury, NJ, and Dorothy (Jim) Frankel-Dickson of Teaneck, NJ, Her grandchildren, Andrew Frankel of Andover, NH, Megan (James) Billings of Windham, ME, Ariel (Joe) Frankel of Manchester, NH, Meredith (Price) Dawson of Teaneck, NJ, Allison Price of Teaneck, NJ, and Samuel Price of Teaneck, NJ. Great-grandchildren, Bryson Frankel, Corbin Frankel, and Hazel Billings. She leaves behind her dear sisters and brothers: Karl (Anne) Zatorski of Manhattan, NY, Loretta Alonso of Bloomington, IN, Julio (Elyse) Alonso of Bloomington, IN, Carol (Willie) Lake of Chester, NY, Patricia (Julio) Polanco of Jersey City, NJ, and Dona Soell of Valley Cottage, NY. Barbara was predeceased by her daughter-in-law Sharon Frankel, her sisters Carolyn "Cookie" Miller, Veronica "Ronnie" Zatorski, and her brothers-in-law Ronald Frankel and James Soell. Barbara was a homemaker and childcare provider. She was a valued member of Teaneck United Methodist Church serving as Church Secretary, Nursery Coordinator, Sunday School Teacher, and in many committees. She was an advocate for special needs children, proactively incorporating special needs students into the mainstream population. She was also an avid reader. Barbara was a woman of compassion who at times of great fear and misunderstanding invited people into her home. She took care of troubled teens. Barbara provided a safe harbor for those with broken homes. Her greatest passions were her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Services will be held at Teaneck United Methodist Church, 201 Degraw Ave, Teaneck, NJ on February 2, 2019. Viewing at 8:30am, Service 9:30am, burial at Laurel Grove Cemetery 295 Totowa Rd, Totowa, NJ, and reception to follow 1:00pm at Teaneck United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Barbara's memory to Teaneck United Methodist Church Building Fund, 201 Degraw Ave, Teaneck, NJ 07666.
