Doris Sylvia Mardirosian

Doris Mardirosian (nee) Gulamerian, 90, of Westwood, NJ, formerly of Teaneck, NJ was called to Heaven on October 30, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Marcus Mardirosian Sr. Devoted mother of Marcia Mardirosian, Marcus Mardirosian Jr, and Debra Marino & her husband Anthony. Loving grandmother to Brian Marino, and Stephanie Marino-Cundari & her husband Nick. She was predeceased by her brother Ed Gulamerian and sister Alice Voskian. Doris was a longtime faithful member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Teaneck, NJ. She was dedicated to the church and volunteered her time in many ways. Doris served as a eucharistic minister, as well as a member of the Vestry, Women’s Guild, and as Director of the Altar Guild at St. Mark’s. Her volunteer work reached beyond the church. She was the principal coordinator for the annual North Porch baby shower benefiting local new mothers in need, for which she received an award for 22 years of faithful service. She was active with United Thank Offering, a national effort which funds mission and ministry in The Episcopal Church and the Anglican Communion around the world. On the Diocesan level, she was a longtime member of the Episcopal Church Women and served as its President. She also contributed her time and energy to the Diocesan annual convention for many years, especially as chair of the Arrangements committee. Doris attended Annual Diocesan Conventions and Triennial Conventions, traveling to places such as Colorado, California, Indiana, and Ohio. In 2012, the Diocese honored Doris with the David P. Hegg II Lifetime Achievement Award, recognizing her faithful work for both her home parish and the Diocese. Family and friends will be received on Thursday, November 2, 2023 from 4-8 PM at Volk Leber Funeral Home, 789 Teaneck Road, Teaneck, NJ. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023 at 11:30 AM at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 118 Chadwick Rd, Teaneck NJ. Interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park, 234 Paramus Rd, Paramus, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to St. Mark's Episcopal Church by check (118 Chadwick Rd, Teaneck NJ). Please notate "In Memory of Doris Mardirosian" in the memo.
