Emanuel "Buddy" Nobile

Nobile, Emanuel ... known affectionately as "Buddy" peacefully entered the Gates of Heaven on Sunday November 12, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by the love of his life Lynn Nobile, his wife of 59 years. Cherished father of Lillian Thomas and her husband Greg, Chip Nobile and his wife Donna, Mary Ann Wilderotter and her husband Larry, and Michael Nobile and his wife Megan. Treasured grandfather of Melissa, Jennifer, Melanie, C.J., Michael, Sandy, Summer, Magnolia, and Michael. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Major Anthony Cirenza and many loving nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his dear brother, Lieutenant Col. Vincent Nobile. Buddy is the son of Emanuel and Lillian Nobile born in Mount Vernon, New York. Buddy graduated with honors from The Bronx High School of Science at age 16 and earned his degree in Electrical Engineering from NYU (Member of Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity) and a Master’s Degree from Brooklyn Polytech. He was a licensed Professional Engineer in 11 states, including New York and California. His first project was the electrical design of the Wollman Ice Skating Rink in Central Park. Later, his position as Principal Electrical Engineer of Nuclear Power Plants enabled him to oversee his projects all over the United States, Europe and South America. He worked at Gibbs & Hill in NYC, Burns & Roe in Oradell and Bechtel in NYC. Buddy also wrote several professional papers published by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. He honorably served in the U.S. Army for the country he loved and had a passion for American history. As a man who loved spending time with his family, he enjoyed summers at Point Pleasant Beach and the Catskills. Buddy also had a passion for antique cars, stamp collecting and family holiday gatherings. His kind nature, warm heart, outstanding integrity and generosity will be sorely missed by all whose lives he touched. Visitation for family and friends is on Thursday from 4-8 PM at the Volk Leber Funeral Home, 268 Kinderkamack Rd., Oradell. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11 AM at St. Joseph RC Church in Oradell. Interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, PO Box 1000, Memphis, TN 38101.
