Evelyn Rose Fox

FOX, Evelyn Rose (nee McCue), age 95 passed into eternal rest on May 14, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. She was the cherished daughter of the late Rose (nee Wagner) and Henry McCue, and was born in Manhattan. Evelyn was the beloved wife of the late Michael J. Fox, and their 64 year-long love affair was one to be envied. Family was most important to Evelyn. She was the loving and cherished mother of the late Michael (wife Janet), Robert, Rosemary Thurston (husband Robert), Eileen Ludwig (late husband Lew), James, Patricia (husband Joseph Citarella) and Joanne Curcio (husband Victor). Evelyn is survived by 10 grandchildren including Dorothy, Michael, Kevin, Susan, Dennis, Charlotte, Danny, Melissa, Matthew, Julie, and 10 great-grandchildren. Evelyn was predeceased by her beloved brother Donald R. McCue, and is survived by Donald’s wife Terry, who she viewed as the sister she never had. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Alice, and husband Ducky, who she loved for over 70 years. Evelyn leaves behind numerous loving nieces and nephews, and her special cousins Bruce and Nancy Anderson. Evelyn had the honor of having her first confession heard by Father Duffy, the renowned WWI chaplain of the Fighting 69th, and also received her First Communion from him at Holy Cross Church on W. 42nd St., NYC. Evelyn’s philosophy of life is best reflected by the words written on a plaque that hangs in her kitchen. A Hundred Years From Now ... it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove ... but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a CHILD Friends and family are invited for visitation today from 4-8 PM and Sunday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at Volk Leber Funeral Home, 789 Teaneck Road, Teaneck, NJ. Funeral service from the funeral home on Monday at 9 AM and then to St. Margaret’s of Cortona Church, Little Ferry, NJ for a 10 AM Mass of Christian Burial. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, N. Arlington, NJ.
