Mr. Leon Pittman

The Obituary Mr. Leon Pittman was born on May 24, 1955 in Halifax County, North Carolina late George W. Buffaloe and Bertha Lee Pittman-Buffaloe. He was educated in North Carolina and attended Martin Luther King Junior High and Eastside High Schools in Paterson, New Jersey. His very first job was working with his father and younger brother James at Jax Carwash in Maywood, New Jersey. He then moved on to work for Asbury Packaging in Passaic, New Jersey where he was the foreman of younger sister Bessie. He later served as a maintenance supervisor at Fabricolor in Paterson, New Jersey for over 20 years and the Knickerbocker County Club in Englewood, New Jersey for 10 years. On April 14, 1990 Leon married Winifred West and became the proud father of sons Tyshawn and Kareem. In December of 1995 he moved the family to Teaneck, New Jersey and welcomed daughter Ashanti and youngest son Tyler. Mom Bertha described Leon as a very obedient child who was always willing to lend a helping hand when he was able. Leon loved sports. His favorite teams were the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Knicks. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, he also loved fishing and music. He played a wicked game of golf but most importantly he loved travelling with his family. Myrtle Beach, South Carolina being one of the favorite vacation locations. Leon peacefully entered into eternal rest on Monday, April 21, 2014. He is predeceased by his father Deacon George W. Buffaloe and best buddy John Johnson. He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife Winifred West, sons: Tyshawn and Kareem West, Tyler Pittman, daughter: Ashanti Pittman, of Teaneck, NJ son: Leon Pittman, Jr. and granddaughter Miracle Pittman of Paterson, NJ. His dearest mother Bertha Buffaloe, sisters: Bessie, Cynthia and Vanessa Buffaloe all of Paterson, NJ, sister: Carolyn Clark of E. Stroudsburg, PA, brothers: James L. Buffaloe (Annabelle) of Pensacola, FL and brother Michael W. Buffaloe (Carmen)of San Diego, CA. Brother-in-law: Lescliff West (Doris) of Nottingham, England. Eight nieces: Priscilla Williams, Khiya Washington, Yina Clark, Natasha, Krystal, Mekeisha, Alyssa and Christina Buffaloe. Five nephews: Quaheem and Raheem Clark, Michael G., Quentin and Ravon Buffaloe. Three great-nieces: Lakaya Williams, Emily and Jada Clark, Three great nephews: Adrian and Aniche Meadows and Jaidyn Clark. Aunts: Lillie Wade (Isaac) of Tarboro, NC, Bessie Clark of Paterson, NJ, Mary Miller of Jacksonville, FL, Barbara Jean Dolberry (Fred) of Baltimore, MD, Maggie Edmonds (Haywood) of Charlotte, NC, Linda and Sarah Ann Pittman of Scotland Neck, NC. Uncles: Robert Pittman of Canton Ville, MD, Lee Pittman (Deborah) of Covington, GA, Rudolph Pittman (Doris) of Scotland Neck, NC along with a host of cousins, friends and Godmother Shirley Henley of Las Vegas, NV.
