Lodema L. Pawlak

Pawlak, Lodema L. (Jordan), 73, of Teaneck. It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we note the peaceful passing of Lodema (Lody) Pawlak on Monday, January 9, after a brave and courageous battle with cancer. She was born on April 17th, 1943, at Holy Name Hospital, Teaneck, NJ to Leo Thomas Jordan and Veronica Virginia Jordan. She spent her childhood growing up in Cliffside Park where she attended Epiphany Catholic School and Cliffside Park High School. She and her mother participated for many years as members of Talent Workshop – a dancing and singing group which performed shows in a variety of venues. Her family enjoyed many trips to visit and stay in touch with relatives and that included an eventful drive across the country in 1948 taking along their dog Shep. Beloved wife of 42 years to the late Stephen R. Pawlak, Jr. Devoted mother of: Stephen R. Pawlak III; Scott Pawlak (Mary-Lu); Mark Pawlak (Hilda); and Victoria Marchlinski (Carl). Dear sister of Ronald Jordan (Marilyn); Ronald Pawlak (Geraldine); William Pawlak (Valery). Loving grandmother of five grandchildren, six great grandchildren; cherished aunt of many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. She spent her career as a sales representative for AT&T and then later for the Bank of America. Lody’s joy in life was her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was very family oriented always celebrating holidays as large family gatherings. For more than 20 years, she and her husband and their extended families enjoyed vacation adventures together in Lake George NY and Florida while the children were growing up. Later in life, she travelled many places with her friend since childhood, Pam Olsen, including trips to England and Italy. Lody had a distinct and unique talent for storytelling. She was the entertainer at every gathering, finding humor in situations which never failed to have the listeners roaring with laughter and sometimes turning the laughter into tears. How we will miss those stories! We are so blessed that she left us with a treasure trove of them to remember her by. Family and friends are invited to visit Thursday, January 12, from 5-9pm at Volk Leber Funeral Home, 789 Teaneck Road, Teaneck, NJ. Funeral service Friday, January 13, 10:30am at the funeral home.
