Louis J. Trotta

Louis J. Trotta, age 101, of Teaneck, NJ passed away peacefully on August 14, 2022 at the NJ Veterans Home at Paramus. Born in West Hoboken, New Jersey, Louis was the fifth of seven children of the late Michael and Palma (Menzella) Trotta. He met the love of his life - Rita (Foster) Trotta at Mackel Field in Teaneck in between softball games. They married in 1944 during a break from his United States Army military service during World War II. Louis is survived by his children: Rita Wansleben of Hanover, New Hampshire, Thomas (Lorenda) Trotta of Jacksonville, Florida, Marie (Tony) Osorio of Hackensack, New Jersey, and Bob (Mindy) Trotta of Jersey City, New Jersey, and daughter-in-law: Sharon Trotta of Ocean, New Jersey; 9 grandchildren (Christine, Tom (Lynn), Lauren (Justin), Christopher, Michelle (Kevin), Melissa (Rob), Daniel (Nancy), Alex, and Will, and 10 great grandchildren (Laith, Dia, Sophie, Brexton, Willow, Owen, Breccan, Connor, Emerson, and Maizie Bee). He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, siblings, son: Michael Trotta of Monmouth Beach, New Jersey, and grandchild: Deborah Wansleben of Claremont, New Hampshire. Louis worked for the United States Postal Service for over 40 years. He was a talented and caring family man and friend to all who loved fishing, gardening, and dancing. (He and Rita won several local dance contests). He was also a parishioner and usher for over 50 years at St. Anastasia’s Roman Catholic Church in Teaneck. Always the first one to help out, Louis enjoyed his volunteer work and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by family and friends alike. Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, August, 18, 2022 from 4-8PM at Volk Leber Funeral Home, 789 Teaneck Road, Teaneck, NJ 07666. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10AM at St. Anastasia’s Church in Teaneck.
