Louise Colman Bunn

Mrs. Louise Colman Bunn, the daughter of the late Eloise Crichlow and the late Marshall Colman, was born January 5,1922, in Brooklyn, New York. She passed away on June 19, 2023, at the age of 101. Mrs. Bunn earned a Bachelor's degree in Education at Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn, New York. Louise was joined in holy matrimony to Jesse Bunn, and to this union, seven children were born and raised: five sons, Kenneth, Ronald, Tony, Wayne, and Michael; and two daughters, Gainelle and Medina. Louise was a vivacious spirit. She loved music, and had a passion for dancing. She had a green thumb, in respect to caring for her plants. Her hobbies included crocheting, knitting hats, blankets, booties, and doilies. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed tutoring children who needed help in their courses. For more than 20 years, she was a teacher at Public School 45. Louise embraced a spiritual consciousness intermingled with all of her commitments in life. When it came to rearing her children, as well as her students, she was always a disciplinarian. Mrs. Bunn is Survived by children: Ronald Bunn, Gainelle Bunn, Tony Bunn, Michael Bunn and Wayne Williams; Grandchildren: Wayne Williams, Jr. Brooklyn Calendar, Siaori Jean-Louis, Shakira Bunn, Tonia Taylor Rivers, Joyelle Walker, Sarai Rivers, Amina Bunn, Deitra Cade-Thomas, Toni Bunn, Rona Bunn, Eugene A. Streeter and Nashawn T. Kirkland; Great Grandchildren LaToya Williams, Jamal Jackson, Sincere Jean-Louis, Savah Jean-Louis, Semaj Jean-Louis, Sarai Jean-Louis, Nile Adrian Greaves, Wilfredo Salgado,Laila Rivers, Amani Walker, Jibril Walker, Rasean Bunn, Kyra Cade, Ameerah Drake, Chase Bunn-Harvey, Shanice Kirkland, Angel A. Streeter, Alexander D. Streeter and Alysa K. Streeter. Great Great Grandchildren: Aalayha Williams, Elius Williams, Destiny Jackson-Williams, Bella Jackson and Jamal Jackson, Jr. She leaves to cherish her memories, a host of relatives, friends, and acquaintances. Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 from 9-10AM at Volk Leber Funeral Home, 789 Teaneck Rd., Teaneck, NJ 07666. A celebration of life service will begin at 10Am at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, NY.
