Pedro Garcia

With profound sadness and heartfelt gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of our beloved father, Pedro B. Garcia, who peacefully entered eternal rest on June 24, 2026, in Teaneck, New Jersey, at the remarkable age of 100. Pedro was born in Concepcion, Tarlac, Philippines, on April 12, 1926, to Felicidad (née Bondoc) Garcia and Jose Garcia. He was the devoted husband of the late Carmelita (née Cayanan) Garcia, with whom he shared a lifetime of love, faith, and family. Together they built a home centered on hard work, compassion, and unwavering devotion to their children. Pedro immigrated to the United States in 1987, first settling in Norfolk, Virginia. He later moved to Hackensack, New Jersey, before making his home in Teaneck in 1994. Pedro spent much of his life as a farmer in the Philippines, where he learned the values of perseverance, humility, and hard work. After immigrating to the United States, he continued working diligently until his retirement. He later chose to retire early so he could devote more time to caring for his grandchildren—one of the greatest joys of his life. He found great joy in tending his backyard garden, where he grew vegetables and beautiful flowers. Above all, Pedro treasured time with his family. He filled the lives of his grandchildren with love, laughter, gentle guidance, and cherished memories that they will carry with them forever. Pedro is lovingly survived by his eight children, 14 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and his sister, who will continue to honor his legacy through the values he instilled in them. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carmelita. Those who knew Pedro will remember him as a humble, hardworking, patient, and gentle man whose greatest pride and accomplishment was his family. His kindness, quiet strength, generous heart, and unwavering love will remain an enduring example for generations to come. While our hearts are filled with sorrow, we find comfort in knowing that Pedro's legacy lives on through his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His love, wisdom, and example will continue to guide our family for generations to come. We are forever grateful for the many years we were blessed to share with him and will hold his memory close in our hearts always. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Pedro's life on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Volk Leber Funeral Home, 789 Teaneck Road, Teaneck, New Jersey 07666, from 2:00–4:00 PM and 7:00–9:00 PM. A Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bogota, New Jersey.
