Warren Dembeck

Warren Dembeck, 92, of Oradell, NJ for more than 67 years, passed away on Saturday, September 18th 2021. Warren worked for Lowe Paper Co. for 47 years (retired 1995) and as an Oradell crossing guard on the corner of Oradell and Prospect for 22 years (retired 2018). Born in North Bergen, NJ, on June 28th 1929, to Anthony Dembeck and Ethel C. Thran, both predeceased him. Warren is the beloved husband of the late Erna L. Dembeck (Trucksess). He is survived by his sister, Doris Jodice Scholbohm. He had 6 children; Deborah Simmons of Lakeland, FL, Steven of Oradell, Dennis of Mount Hope, NY, Diane (Andrew) Astarita of River Edge, Mark (Donna) of Andover, and Scott (Nancy) of Westwood. He had 16 grandchildren; Jennifer, Michael, Joelle, Jessica, Matt, Jamie, Mark, Dylan, Kira, Joseph, Alyson, Alycia, Ashley, Mark Jr., Victoria, and Amanda, 20 great-grandchildren; Cheyenne, Stephen, Savannah, Katelyn, Zachary, Sean, David, Brianna, Christopher, Emily, Jordan, Paige, Livia, Ethan, Sawyer, Peyton, Madison, Zachary, Mark Jr., and Nora and 1 great-great-grandson; Aiden. Warren was involved in the Oradell Sports Program, U-GALS, Little League, and Babe Ruth Baseball. He was also involved with the Oradell Special Events Committee and called bingo games for the Multiple Sclerosis Committee in Hackensack. Warren was a Past Master of the Mosaic Lodge #194, Ridgefield Park, the Masonic Order of Masons of NJ, and a Past Patron of Tilden Chapter #59, Tenafly, and other Masonic groups such as Zabud Council #52 R&S.M., Adelphic Chapter #33, R.A.M and the Masonic Stamp Club of New York. He belonged to the YMCA Indian Guide Program when he and his sons were younger. Friends and family are invited to visit this Wednesday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Volk Leber Funeral Home, 268 Kinderkamack Road, Oradell, NJ. A Masonic and Eastern Star Service is planned for 7:30pm. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10:30am at the funeral home. Interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, send donations in his name to Shriners Hospital for Children, Philadelphia, PA or to the M.D.A. Fund.
