Winston A. Warner

Thoughtful, sincere, dignified, courageous, and noble— these are just a few words that capture the essence of Winston Antonio “Churchill” Warner, a man whose quiet strength and unwavering love left a mark on all who knew him. Winston was born on May 13, 1945 to Henry Martin Sr. and Emelda Warner in the beautiful Virgin Islands. He peacefully passed away on October 20, 2025, surrounded by loved ones in his home after bravely facing a difficult battle with Alzheimer's. He was married to Milliecent Warner for 55 years and together they had two beautiful children, who were the light of his life. Winston bravely served his country with honor as a proud soldier of the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After his military service ended, he continued to dedicate his time to helping others by dutifully working as a Corrections Officer until he retired in 1993. Upon retirement, he expressed his love for his family and his friends through his undeniable and amazing talent of cooking delicious and hearty home-cooked meals. His home-cooked meals were a special tradition, a way he brought people together and made everyone feel cared for. His kitchen was always a place filled with laughter, stories, and the comforting aromas of something always on the stove. Whether it was Thanksgiving or a quiet Sunday afternoon, he embraced the simple pleasures of family, food, and friends. He enjoyed his time with his grandchildren a great grand — frequently taking them on car rides and gallivanting through the island of St. Thomas, creating memories filled with laughter and adventure. He completely embraced nature, spending much of his time outdoors. Whether it was beautifying the family’s yard by caring for the mango and banana trees and hibiscus flowers or taking a long swim in Magen’s Bay, Winston was a lover of nature. He will be remembered for his steadfast devotion to family and the quiet strength that always seemed to surround him. Winston was a man of few words, but when he spoke, his words carried weight. Wise, always sincere, and dignified. His life was a testament to love, strength, and loyalty. He is survived by his wife, Milliecent Warner. His children: Tanya Christopher and Sonya Warner. His grandchildren: Tanasia Monsanto, Tahjahni Christopher, Delonya Figueroa, Taayano Richards and Taraji Richards. Great Grandchildren: J’Kai Garbiel. Siblings: Linda Todman, Hulia Casey (Joseph Casey), Joel Martin (Joyce Martin), Janice Webster, and Flora Warner. Nieces: Debra Mason, Marie Vanterpool, Bernadette Vanterpool, Michelle Potter, Chenise Kean, Carol Brown, Delores Pelle, Dahlia Parker, Andrea Casey, Jacqueline Casey, Eve Abedengo, Shana Webster Trotman, Jonelle Martin Holmes, Kareese Martin. Nephews: Dale Vanterpool, Kenneth Vanterpool, Chet Todman, Joel Martin Jr. (Melina Martin), Derrick Parker. Though his earthly journey has come to an end, his spirit will always live on in the laughter of his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, in the love he poured into every meal, and in the quiet strength he instilled in those who loved him. May his loving soul rest in eternal peace, and may the light he shared continue to guide us always and forever.
