Cristino Evangelista Fabro aka Tinong of New Milford, NJ passed on in the early afternoon of April 20, 2020 at the age of 70. He was born July 24, 1949 in the Illocos region of Piaz, Villasis, Pangasinan, Philippines. He is the son of the late Aurelia Evangelista Fabro and Benjamin Lopez Fabro who are well known for their legendary expertise and business in Agriculture that was originated in Piaz. He worked along side his parents and seven siblings on the farms and rice fields to help with the business. In his early years, Cristino attended Pacifican College and graduated in 1964. He then went onto FEATI University in which he received his Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering in 1974. Then in 1979, he studied at The National University of Manila for Sanitary Engineering. Cristino then pursued his career in Electrical Engineering. During that period, as of 1980, he married his adoring wife, Ludy Loque Fabro, a student nurse, whom by 1981, received her BS in Nursing. After a few short years, Cristino and Ludy fulfilled their ultimate dream to move to America where they would raise their son, Harold Fabro. They finally established a residence in Flushing, NY and remained there for several years. By the mid 1990's, with Cristino's selflessness and thoughtful nature, he had developed a great respect and admiration for nursing. So, he continued his education by attending The Borough of Manhattan Community College. Following completion, he began his career as a Registered Nurse for the State of New York. Cristino is best described by many as extremely humble, calm-spirited, funny, loyal, loving, and God fearing. He is best known for his endearing laughter and smile that would spread among all that were around him. Along with his immediate family, his several nieces and nephews have always expressed their admiration for Cristino, 'Uncle Tinong'. "He is such an angel" - Mercedes R. Khan Tinong had a fondness for traveling to different places with his wife, Ludy. But one that they enjoyed the most was going on joy rides to Atlantic City on many occasions which was something thrilling that they both loved to share. They also loved going on luxury cruises throughout as this was going to be their next planned trip this year. When their son, Harold, his wife, Gleda and son, Jacob moved to New Milford, NJ, he insisted that his parents leave Flushing, NY and move into his home to be together and help raise their grandson. Since that time, they have remained in the same home until now. In the recent years, Cristino had served as a Registered Nurse Supervisor for the Long Island Care Center in Queens, NY. Fast forwarding to present day, as the world faces a new reality of the diabolical Coronavirus pandemic and as it has become apparent that New York City is the epicenter, Cristino, with his heavy heart and wide concerns, bravely continued to work along side his colleagues including his wife, and served as a nurse on the frontlines. In the midst of his heroic sacrifice helping those affected by the virus, he himself had become a target. Despite his declining health, he showed enormous courage and empathy for those around him. During his last hours on this earth, Cristino expressed his immense love and devotion to his beloved family and extended family. Cristino Evangelista Fabro is survived by his wife, Ludy Loque Fabro, son, Harold Fabro, daughter in-law, Gleda Fabro and grandson, Jacob Fabro. He is also survived by his sister and brothers, Virginia F. Rivera, Manuel Fabro, Napoleon Fabro, Romulo Fabro, and Primo Fabro. Cristino is pre-survived by his eldest brother, Sergio Fabro Sr. and eldest sister, Victoria F. Maracha. Exodus 12:3 NIV New International Version “Tell the whole community of Israel that on the tenth day of this month each man is to take a lamb for his family, one for each household.” 1 Corrinthians 5:7 NIV New International Version “For Christ, our Passover lam, has been sacrificed. Romans 12:1 NIV New International Version “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God –this is your true and proper worship.” Just as Cristino 'Tinong' Fabro sacrificed his life during the Passover and Easter week, by being on the frontlines of war on the coronavirus, may our promises be fulfilled in Christ Jesus by being living sacrifices.
