Douglas Lee Umstead, born February 25, 1974, sadly passed on Saturday, February 12, 2022. He grew up in Carlstadt, NJ before moving to Byram, NJ where he went to Lenape Valley High School. He looked forward to working in the moving industry and also loved working with tire companies. He loved music and reading the bible. He is survived by his mom, Joanne Platt Umstead and his four children; Ryan Umstead, Samantha Harding, Jesse Umstead and Brandon Buff. Doug was predeceased by his dad, Darryl Umstead, his grandparents, Marie and James Platt and his uncle, William Platt. Friends and family are invited to visit on Thursday, February 17, 2022 from 2-4PM and 7-9PM at Volk Leber Funeral Home, 789 Teaneck Road, Teaneck, NJ 07666. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11AM at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, East Rutherford, NJ. Interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ.
