Born Elesha Alexander (Elisha) on March 23, 1968 to Cynthia Alexander and Lawrence Emmanuel in Castries, St. Lucia. A victim of Covid-19, she began her eternal rest on January 18, 2021 in Teaneck, New Jersey. Elisha came to the United States after residing with her father in U.S. Virgin Islands from 1982 to1987 and after moving from Saint Lucia. She then pursued her education at Fairleigh Dickerson University in New Jersey, where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in Finance. While attending college, she worked at Citibank in New York City where she met her loving husband Noel. Their love quickly prevailed and thereafter had their first son Jonathan. Noel and Elisha got married in 1993 and started a full life as a family. Within a few years, they had their second son Matthew. Elisha was a hard worker and dedicated to various companies, such as Bank of America, Verizon, AIG, Prudential and Fortis in New York City. She most recently worked at Samsung Electronics of America as a paralegal in the corporate office. Her time at Fortis made an impact on her life. That is where she formed allegiance with her best friends, Paulette, Jenice, Nicole (Nikki) known as the SGs (Sista Girls) - a friendship that could not be broken. Their friendship/love was dynamic. Elisha’s love for her husband was without hesitation and always present. They shared a strong and supportive bond. They admired each other; was supported in rearing their sons, visiting relatives, traveling and entertaining at their home in New Jersey. Elisha loved and adored her immediate and extended family whole-heartedly. Her dedication to her their sons Jonathan and Matthew was never-ending. She supported their goals in education and career choices which she extended to the lives of their friends as well. Their friends were welcomed to their home at any given time or celebration. Elisha was a dedicated member of Unity Church of Christ located in Maywood, New Jersey for several years. As a Bible school teacher, she taught and mentored children. One of her true passion was to work with young minds; she was big on rearing children to be great citizens. She was also an advocate of proper discipline and appropriate manners. Several years ago, Elisha endured an unfortunate bout of spinal infection. She underwent numerous surgeries in a short period of time to treat and correct the damage sustained. She was strong, endured the pain and fought to get better for herself, her family and especially her children. She bounced back to continue her most cherished roles as wife and mother. Elisha loved to travel with her family, but also loved her “Me Time.” She was always on a quest for mental, spiritual, and physical healing and advancement. Though she loved mental healing, she never hesitated from utilizing “YouTube” and other platforms on the internet for self-development videos. Reading books or articles were a thrill for her during her “Me Time” moments. Elisha is predeceased by her brother Lee Emmanuel. She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband Noel Gabriel; Sons, Jonathan and Matthew Gabriel; Mother, Cynthia Alexander (Florida); Father, Lawrence Emmanuel (Boston); Siblings: Ivestus Emmanuel, Galen Emmanuel, Bernia Emmanuel, Claudia Alexander, Barbie Alexander, Steve Alexander, Tyron Alexander, Kent Laurent, Evelyne Sefil; Aunt, Genifer St. Ange; Adopted Mother, Ettie Cazaubon; God-Children: Alakay Alexander, and Levi Thomas. She also has close family and friends located throughout New York area, Saint Lucia; a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in Martinique, U.S. Virgin Islands, England, Canada and especially in the United States. Her family also included the members of the United Church of Christ led by the Rev. Dr Bessie Duncan.
