Karen Sylvia Alexandridis (née Gaizband)

Karen S. Alexandridis (née Gaizband), 78, of Dumont NJ, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2021. Karen grew up in Ridgefield, NJ, and was a student at the Ridgefield and Leonia public school systems and went on to attend Fairleigh Dickenson University. Through her job at TWA in the 60’s she was able to travel freely and often. On a chance trip to Athens, Greece she met her husband Michael Alexandridis, and were proud parents to beloved son, Aristidis. After brief moves to Houston, Texas and Athens, Greece the family settled in Leonia, NJ. Karen spent her career in Banking at Midlantic, PNC and Provident banks where she always met customers with incredible kindness. Karen enjoyed simple pleasures; a chat, lunch, a movie, Scrabble, and always – a good book. She was down-to-earth, easy-going, fun-loving, witty and sharp. Karen loved everybody and treasured her family and friends. Karen is pre-deceased by husband Michael, parents Zelda and Morris Gaizband and beloved surrogate parents Aunt Gloria and Uncle Donald Lubin. She is survived by son Ari Alexandridis of Union City, NJ ; Brother Bob Gaizband of Port Murray, NJ ; Step-daughter Vivian Antimisiaris of Chania, Crete and her children Michael and Mary Antimisiaris. Visiting for the public will be held at Volk/Leber Funeral Home in Teaneck, NJ on Thursday June 10, from 10 – 1pm. Following will be a burial service for family and close friends at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus.
