Roland O Bianchi

Roland O. Bianchi, 89, of Teaneck NJ, passed away at Holy Name Medical Center on March 26, 2022. He was born and raised in Union City. Roland graduated from Seton Hall University and completed ROTC training in 1955. He was then assigned to the Advanced Infantry School at Fort Benning, Georgia, where he also completed airborne training. He spent 15 months stationed in Korea in the mid 1950s. After being honorably discharged from the Army, he joined the US Army Reserves as an officer in the Intelligence Corps. He was an English and Special Education teacher for 36 years in Dumont NJ. In 1974, he was ordained a Permanent Deacon in the Roman Catholic Church and served at Holy Name Medical Center, and Saint Anastasia Catholic Church until his retirement in 2020. Roland was devoted to his wife Joan Bianchi, his children Michael Bianchi and his wife Sharon, Maria Blank and her husband Robert, and Roland E. Bianchi and his wife Lisa. He also loved his grandchildren Laura Stewart and her husband TJ, Coryn Lombardi and her husband Chris, Lisa Damiano and her husband John, Christopher Bianchi, Jackson Bianchi, and his great grandson Robby Stewart. Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, April 7, 2022 from 4-8PM at Volk Leber Funeral Home, 789 Teaneck Road, Teaneck, NJ 07666. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10AM at St. Anastasia's Roman Catholic Church in Teaneck, NJ. Interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ.
