Vernon continued working in the Hospitality industry for Sheraton Hotel. While working his fulltime job, he perused different part time opportunities in sales and investment working for New York life and Al Williams. He was passionate about working for himself and always looked for new business opportunities. Vernon was also passionate about cooking. He shied away from cooking the traditional Jamaican foods such as Rice & Peas, Curry Goat, Oxtail, Brown Stew Chicken, and Akees and Saltfish but gravitated to Gourmet dishes such as Shrimp Scampi, Filet Mignon, and Lobster Thermidor just to name a few. In the early 2000’s Vernon retired and continued doing what he loved most – He eventually opened an online women clothing store and a store front selling women apparels. Vernon liked going to the racetrack but settled on being a lifelong New York sport fan routing for the NY Giants, Jets, Yankees, Mets, Knicks, and Nets. Vernon will be missed by his family well as all of his friends that he has met throughout his life.
