Adeline Laura Masucci

MASUCCI, Adeline Laura (nee DeSantis), 97, of Oradell formerly of Brooklyn and Manchester, NJ passed away peacefully on May 25, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. The love and support of the Sunrise at Woodcliff Lake Community and Life Source hospice staff helped make her passing a blessed transition. She was born in 1920 in Brooklyn, NY and got married during World War II. She worked at the University of Chicago on the Manhattan Project while her husband prepared for his service in the O.S.S in the Army. After World War II she returned to Brooklyn where she worked as a bookkeeper for her father’s clothing business before and after the war, in addition to this she was a homemaker and a school aide for NY Public Schools. She loved cooking, crafts and all creative activities. She moved to Leisure Knoll Community in Lakehurst in ’94 where she had many friends and participated in various activities. After her husbands death in 2015 she moved to Sunrise at Woodcliff Lake Community where she loved being active and made many friends who loved her. She touched many lives with her love and kindness. She is predeceased by her parents Madeline (nee Fragano), stepmother Erminia Ottaviano (who raised her), her father Stano DeSantis, brother Andrew and her sisters Emily Cavaliere and Diana Petrino, husband Felix (Phil) Masucci and a few nieces and nephews. She is survived by her daughters Lori Locastro and husband Frank, Michele “Micki” Saffell and husband Ron. Loving grandmother to Adrienne Murphy and husband Peter, Dani Locastro and husband Michael Musso, Andrea Moore and husband Tim and Corinne Simon and husband Daniel. Cherished great grandmother of Joe, Miranda, Gordon, Monica and Sienna. Also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews. Family and friends are welcome to visit on Monday 4-8pm at Volk Leber Funeral Home, 268 Kinderkamack Road, Oradell. Funeral service will be on Wednesday 8:30am at the funeral home followed by a 9:30am Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mercy, Park Ridge. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Queens, NY.
