Angela Jones

Under God’s infinite wisdom and grace, The Heavenly Father chose for his angel to be born on earth. Angela Jones was born Angela Quan Ching to Richard and Victoria Quan Ching on August 5, 1948 in Trinidad & Tobago, West Indies. On Saturday October 7, 2023, Angela (Angie) departed the earthly realm to have her seat in heaven. She is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Victoria Quan Ching. Angie finished her formal education in the Trinidad and Tobago school system before coming to the United States. In 1969, she came to New York to embark on new beginnings. She was a hard worker and held many different positions over the years including bookkeeper for several independent companies, distributor for The Bergen Record newspaper for 36 years, independent Sprint Dealer and owner of the ice cream store Creamy Delight in Teaneck, NJ. Angie was a charismatic person and a good Samaritan. She was the most generous person you could meet and she lived her life with the goal of making life better and easier for those in need. Many people came to Angie for shelter, financial assistance, rides, and childcare. She never turned anyone away. All those close to her knew her love of dogs and this was evidenced in the many for whom she cared and fostered. The number of connections that Angie made over the years was great. The small community who depended on her daily will feel a tremendous impact from her loss. Angie loved and was loved by her children, grandchildren, many friends and especially her dogs. She will be dearly missed by them all. We know that God has welcomed Angie, His good and faithful servant, with open arms and she now can rest. Angela leaves her daughters, Shamaine DeLorenzo (Tom), and Sabrina Jones (Marvin); her sons, Michael Jones (Emily) and Christopher De Gannes (Olivia); eight grandchildren, Samantha, Alyssa, Tommy, Jake, Janell, Keeley, Onyxx, and Izel; her brothers, Victor Leotaud, Lucien Quan Ching, and Robert Leotaud; her sisters, Semoy Gittens, Veronica Leotaud, Christine Leotaud, and Minque Quan Ching (pre-deceased) ; her aunts, Cynthia Gross and Louise Forde; her beloved dogs, Ghost and Tifo; and a host of family & friends. Visitation will be held Friday, October 13, 2023 from 5pm to 8pm at the Volk Leber Funeral Home, 789 Teaneck Road, Teaneck, NJ. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday October 14, 2023 at 10am at St. John The Evangelist Church, 29 N. Washington Ave., Bergenfield, NJ. Entombment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park Cemetery, 234 Paramus Road, Paramus, NJ.
