In Loving Memory of John V Suglia Jr. December 9, 1937 – July 17, 2026 John V. Suglia Jr., 88, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a lifetime of love, faith, family, and cherished memories. Born on December 9, 1937, to John and Margaret Suglia, John grew up with a strong sense of family and community. He attended Leonia High School, where he distinguished himself as a star football player and wrestler. It was during this time that he met the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Nancy. John and Nancy built a beautiful life together, eventually settling in Old Tappan, New Jersey, where they lovingly raised their two sons, John and Michael. John found great joy in life’s simple pleasures like ice cream, the ocean, watching high school football games, and his family. He treasured the places that brought him peace and happiness, especially Hilton Head, South Carolina, and Kemah Lake, New Jersey. Whether surrounded by family on vacation or enjoying quiet moments by the water, these places became the backdrop for countless treasured memories. Above all else, John was a devoted husband, loving father, proud uncle, grandfather, and adoring great-grandfather. His greatest happiness came from spending time with those he loved, sharing stories, cheering on his family, and creating traditions that will live on for generations. John was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nancy, and his son, Michael. He is survived by his son, John; his grandchildren, Jane, Hannah, and Andrew; and his great-grandchildren, Henry, Grace, and Hayes, all of whom brought immeasurable joy to his life. He also leaves behind many extended family members, nieces, nephews, and dear friends who were blessed to know him. John will be remembered for his kindness, steadfast faith, quiet strength, and deep love for his family. He loved deeply and in return, was deeply loved by all. His legacy will continue through the many lives he touched and the memories that we will all carry of him. Memorial Visitation will be held at Volk Leber Funeral Home, 268 Kinderkamack Road, Oradell on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 from 11:00 AM -12:00 PM with prayer service to begin at 11:00AM In lieu of flowers donations would be appreciated to: St. Jude's Research Hospital, Tribute Program, P.O.
