Rochelle Sheila Kapur

Rochelle Sheila David was born in New Delhi, India on May 21, 1942, to her loving parents Arthur and Evelyn David. Being that she was an only child, she craved to have a large family of her own and devoted her life to her late husband Moti L. Kapur and four children Anurita, Mukul, Shalita and Brijul. Not only was she an exemplary mother and role model but a phenomenal grandmother to her nine grandchildren Marty, Christina, Arty, Reeteka, Aaron, Amber, Aiden, David, and Sarah. She was also a loving Great-Grandmother to her three Great-Grandchildren (Sahara, Harper, and newborn Hudson). She was a highly educated teacher with a master’s degree in early childhood education and became an inspiration to us all with her talent and nurturing spirit. At the age of forty-six she became a widow and single-handedly raised her four children with all her love, support, and constant hard work. Her children would not be where we are today if it were not for our Beloved Mother’s continuous efforts. She never hesitated to help anyone in need and selflessly took on all the responsibilities without any complaints or criticism. Throughout all the recent health problems she continued to fight on for her life until the very end. Last year when she became critically ill and was hospitalized, I requested the Chaplin at the hospital to bless her and pray for her but when he asked her what she wanted she replied in a faint voice “please pray for all my children”. This goes to show that even in her time of need she was always putting her children and family first. She was a brilliant lady, and all her personal accomplishments and achievements did not mean anything to her unless she was taking care of her children and grandchildren. She willingly sacrificed her own needs just to make her family her priority, which speaks volumes for who she was as a person. She will be deeply missed in our lives, but we have peace knowing that she is resting with our God Almighty and her parents and our dad in eternal life. She will live on in our memories and traditions she instilled in us forever. Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, August 4, 2024 from 2-4PM at Volk Leber Funeral Home, 789 Teaneck Road, NJ 07666. A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 5, 2024 at 10AM at Hackensack United Methodist Church. Interment to follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Greenburgh, NY.
