Veronica M DeLuise

DeLuise, Veronica M. (nee McChesney) of Barnegat, NJ and Dumont, NJ, passed away on December 26, 2023. Veronica was born on March 17, 1963 to Mary and John McChesney in Jersey City and was raised in Ridgefield Park, NJ. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Ralph. Also surviving are her children Michele Pic and her husband, Brett, Alyssa Kohl and her husband Richard, and her son, Jeffrey DeLuise. Veronica took great pride in being grandma to Gabriel Pic and was so excited for Baby Kohl to arrive. She was the beloved sister of Joan Troyano and her husband Robert, dear daughter-in-law to Jean Zuzeck, cherished sister-in-law to Michael DeLuise and his wife, Barbara, and John Zuzeck. She was the adored aunt to Nicole and Danielle DeLuise, Brooke McChesney, Jake, Jillian and Julia Zuzeck and Jennifer Troyano. Veronica was predeceased by her parents, Mary and John McChesney, sister Rosemary McChesney and brother-in-law Jeffrey Zuzeck. Upon graduating from Immaculate Heart Academy Veronica began her career in banking which she continued for over 40 years. Her most recent role being Vice President, District Operations Manager for Valley Bank. Professionally, Veronica was well-respected by her colleagues and known for being “tough but fair”. An avid beach goer, you could expect to see her in her chair at Barnegat Bay at 8 am during the summer months. Veronica loved spending time with her children, and spoiling her grandson any chance she could. Veronica was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and above all, friend. She will be fondly remembered for giving the best advice, fiercely protecting those she cared about, and typically being right; one of her favorite quotes being, “You can either agree with me or be wrong.” She will be sorely missed by those lucky enough to have made her acquaintance. Friends and family are invited to visit Tuesday, January 2, 2024from 4-8 pm at Volk Leber Funeral Home 268 Kinderkamack Rd, Oradell. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at 10:30 am, St. Paul’s RC Church, 200 Wyckoff Ave, Ramsey.
