Victoria Rose D'Alessandro

Victoria D’Alessandro (Nee Dramis) 88 of Hackensack NJ, formerly of Fairview passed away with grace surrounded by her loving family after a long illness on November 21, 2021. Victoria was born on February 24, 1933 in Jersey City. She attended Ferris High School. While vacationing in Seaside Heights, she met her beloved Gus and married in the winter of 1957. Before retiring in 2013, Victoria worked for Hanover Bank and Lever Brothers. In 1979, she began to work for Fairleigh Dickenson University in the Bursar’s office. She then transitioned to the Edward Williams College where she was assistant to the dean until her retirement. In 2004, Victoria was recognized with the FDU Pillar Award for exceptional individuals who made extraordinary contributions to the University. Victoria was a parishioner at Our Lady of Grace Church, attended mass daily almost all of her life, and was a member of the Rosary Alter Society and Eucharistic Minister. She was voracious reader and enjoyed needlepoint. Victoria delighted in cooking and baking, especially her eggplant, pizzelles, struffolis, pumpkin role and gingerbread man pancakes which she loved making for her grandchildren. The Christmas season was always a delight for her. She took joy in assembling her Christmas Village annually in the family living room and hosting a family party for Santa’s arrival on the Fairview fire truck Predeceased by her husband, Constantino D’Alessandro, her parents Ann and Samuel Dramis, and two brothers Nicholas and James. She is survived by her children Carmine (Sherri), Kurt (Lisa), and John (Leigh Ann) grandchildren: Gabrielle, Christopher, Jimmy, Olivia, Emily, Luke, Elise, Matthew, Amanda, Michelle and her beloved nephew James Dramis. The family would like to acknowledge Patricia Kuffour, “Queen” Victoria’s aide for the last 3 years. Her expert and compassionate care, kindness and patience were invaluable. Blessed with a full and rich life, a loving family, wonderful friends, colleagues and treasured neighbors, Victoria was a gift and will be held in our hearts and remembered forever. The family will receive guests at the Volk Leber Funeral Home, 789 Teaneck Rd., Teaneck, NJ, Tuesday, November 23rd 3 – 7 PM. A mass celebrating Victoria’s life and faith will be held at Our Lady of Grace R.C. Church, Fairview, NJ November 24th at 10:00 AM with entombment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.
