William J Herrick, 36, formerly of Paramus, NJ, currently living in Windsor, CA, passed away on Friday, March 31st. Bill was loved and will be fondly remembered by his father, Doug (Bina Dugan), brothers Nick Herrick (Jennifer Jacobs) and Carmine Cucio (Colleen), sisters Michele Randazzo Jahn (Lucas) (her mom, Jan Aleman) and Mia Curcio (Jenny Carnegie), niece Hailee and nephews Nash and Dante, grandfather Alan (Laurie Nibloch), aunts and uncles Karen and John Costanzo and Brian and Eve Herrick, cousins Kelsey, Nicole, Mike, Nell, and Wilson, his girlfriend, Heather Arsenault, and many other family members. He is predeceased by his mother Tracey Kochis. Bill grew up in Paramus and graduated from Paramus High School in 2006, where he played third base on the baseball team, was a senior captain and an honors student. He studied photojournalism at Marywood University in PA. Bill had a love/hate relationship with his beloved Mets and Giants. He texted his father and Nick during games, celebrating the teams’ wins and bemoaning their injuries and trades. Nothing was more important to Bill than his relationship with his brother Nick. Growing up, they were inseparable, and people always thought they were twins. They loved watching sports, movies, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and making each other laugh. They were best friends and each other’s biggest fan. Bill and his dad bonded over classic rock. He was also a fanatical Phish fan, celebrating his birthday at their New Year’s Eve concerts at Madison Square Garden too many times to count and attending concerts around the country. Bill was passionate about music, politics, the environment, and sports. He was a voracious reader, listened to podcasts every day, and made friends wherever he went. We will all take comfort with the knowledge that Bill is now with his Nan, Patricia Herrick, probably laughing and crying together, with Nan telling him how proud she is of him. The family will receive friends for a celebration of Bill’s life at Volk Leber Funeral Home, 268 Kinderkamack Road , Oradell, NJ on Saturday, April 8, from 4-6PM.
